Hi, I’m Faith Julius.
Person-Centred Counsellor and Life Coach in Leeds and Online
I'm Faith Julius, a qualified Person-Centred counsellor and life coach based in Leeds. I am a member of the BACP and ACC, and I am currently completing my BSc (Hons) Counselling top-up at the University of Staffordshire.
Alongside my Therapeutic Counselling qualification, I have completed an Advanced Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy with the London School of Business and Administration, as well as additional training in Gestalt Therapy. These experiences have broadened my understanding of how our emotions, relationships, family backgrounds, and life experiences can shape how we see ourselves and relate to others.
My Approach
I believe we all need a space where we can show up as we are, without fear of being judged, misunderstood or told how we should feel. Sometimes, life experiences leave us carrying things that are difficult to put into words. You might be trying to make sense of something that has happened, struggling with a loss, finding relationships difficult, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. As a Person-Centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert in your own experience. My role is not to give you answers or tell you what decisions to make, but to walk alongside you as you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
I will listen with empathy, honesty and care, giving you room to speak openly, reflect and make sense of what is happening for you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to find the right words. You can take your time, sit with difficult feelings and explore parts of your experience that you may not have felt able to share elsewhere.
I also recognise that our experiences do not happen in isolation. Our relationships, family backgrounds, past experiences and life circumstances can all influence how we see ourselves and relate to others. My additional training in Gestalt Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy informs my understanding of these connections.
What matters to me
I am particularly interested in supporting people who are navigating trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, anxiety and significant life changes. I also understand that living with a long-term health condition can affect much more than physical health. Having lived with sickle cell myself, I bring personal insight into some of the emotional challenges that can come with living with an ongoing condition. I recognise, however, that everyone's experience is different, and your story will always be your own.
For me, counselling is not about becoming someone else or being told who you should be. It is about having the space to understand yourself more deeply, make sense of your experiences and discover what feels right for you.
Whether you are coming to counselling for the first time or have been carrying something for a long time, you are welcome here just as you are.
Let’s start with a conversation
You do not need to know exactly what you want to talk about before reaching out. If you feel that counselling or life coaching might be helpful, I offer a free, no-pressure consultation where we can talk about what brings you here, answer your questions and explore whether working together feels right for you.
